This is the time of year when Spring is on our doorstep. The sheep flock has been housed in warm, dry pens and are being well fed in readiness for lambing. We have over 700 ewes to lamb between February and April. The birth of young lambs is a sign that the warm weather is on its way and days are lengthening. We have now had a few lambs and so fresh green grass await mother and young, out in the open fields.

Cows are calving and the young are suckled on their mother. They are all kept inside warm dry buildings and fed twice daily. Its great having modern machinery to help care for all the farm animals.

This is also the time for harvesting timber on the farm. We have many old oak trees which require replacing with young trees, so we shall use the timber to make beams and floors. We must not forget the sheep grazing the hill, which also need feeding. This is the time when a person can appreciate the beautiful countryside we live in. Just look down onto the sprawling Conwy valley and estuary and then glimpse the ancient Old Llangelynnin Church nestling as if time time had stood still since it was built over 500 years ago. These are just a few images of life on the farm at this time of the year. It is a place to cherish creation itself and reach out to the past.
