The Farm

You will discover that staying on our farm in the Snowdonia National Park will be an experience to enjoy. The farm holiday cottages are situated close to a series of small lakes which are a haven for birds, insects and other wildlife. The lakes are a haven for birds and other wildlife. There is an abundance of woodland and mountain walks from the doorstep.

Set in over 400 acres of farmland, visitors can walk the paths and explore the private woodlands and wildlife on the farm. For the children there is a rustic timber multi frame play area.

You can experience everyday farm life as it changes with the Seasons. Visitors can also have access to a further 250 acres of Tyddyn Mawr farm land which includes the medieval site and remains of Deganwy Castle overlooking the Estuary, and the sheep grazing areas close to the ancient Llangelynnin Old Church and Tal y Fan mountain.

Things to do in Snowdonia and North Wales

All properties are ideally located for exploring Snowdonia and the whole of North Wales including its tourist attractions, natural beauty and outdoor activities.

Nearby is the picturesque village of Rowen, with its traditional stone cottages. A visit to Ty Gwyn Inn, Rowen or Y Llew Coch, Ty'n y Groes on Friday nights is a must. Hear and enjoy the Welsh language being spoken in the area. From Tyddyn Mawr you can forget your car, and enjoy the countryside at its best.

The walled medieval town of Conwy (just 3 miles away) is a World Heritage Site, and is dominated by the awesome castle built by Edward I, overlooking the fishing harbour and estuary, which also has an RSPB bird sanctuary. The finest Elizabethan Stately House in the UK (Plas Mawr) is in the town, and is well worth a visit.

Located at the edge of the Snowdonia National Park, the cottages are ideally located for visiting the attractions of the whole of North Wales with its many castles, steam railways, and beautiful mountains, lakes, and coastline.

There are also many modern amenities within easy reach such as multiplex cinema, leisure centre, supermarket, ten-pin bowling, and a choice of 4 golf courses. Local events include:

There are opportunities for many activities in this part of North Wales including walking and climbing in the mountains of Snowdonia, or more gentle forest, valley and coastal walking. Mountain biking includes the Marin Trail near Betws-y-Coed, and horseriding and golf are also available locally. The newly opened swimming centre at Llandudno is suitable for all family members.

In the 'Britain & Ireland Rough's Guide 2007', 25 places in the UK & Ireland are listed which a person must experience during their lifetime. Listed as no 11, is the Snowdonia National Park and at no 24, is Walking the Conwy Castle and Town Walls. Both these can be achieved from Tyddyn Mawr which is ideally placed to account for two of the lifetime musts to visit.

How to Find Us

Tyddyn Mawr is located about 4 miles from Conwy in the Conwy Valley in North Wales and is well connected to the UK's road network via North Wales' A55 coastal expressway which links to the M6, and the A5 from the M54.
